Cheryl Harris, owner of Conscious Creations, found her business because she wanted to help others. After more than 10 years in corporate America, she looked for a job that would make her feel fulfilled. “I worked my way up from secretary to contracts manager,” she recalled. “I reached a point where I looked after all aspects of the business. Something was missing. In talking to other women, they were saying the same thing.”
In early 2001, the best thing happened to Harris; laid off, she decided to take the summer off and discover what she truly wanted to do. She believes if she didn’t get fired, she may not have ever started her coaching business in 2002…
