Mom Entrepreneur Helps Others Get in Shape

After her daughter May was born two years ago, Maureen Weston wanted to get back in shape.

She signed on with a fitness program called Stroller Strides, a national franchise run locally by her neighbor Vicky Mergen. Little did she know, that fitness decision would also launch Weston’s career as an entrepreneur.

Weston loved Stroller Strides, which allows moms to get in shape with their babies. The Kalamazoo mom decided late last year to train as an instructor, and in January began teaching.

Just a few months later, Mergen ran into some family challenges and offered to transfer the franchise to Weston. On June 1, Weston became a business owner…
