Maryland Entrepreneur Starts Child Learning Center
Cindi Webb was originally looking for space to expand her New Market business, TumbleBee’s Gym for Kids, when she discovered an 8,000-square-foot space that could be turned into a child learning center.
The renovated learning center includes a paint job, new equipment, a plastic privacy fence around the center’s perimeter and two outdoor play areas with 32 tons of rubber mulch ground cover.
Webb is a foster parent, and has seen first-hand what children face when they do not get a good start in life.
“Our personal mission is to meet the needs of parents and children — emotional, physical, social and educational. That includes empathy for others and good manners,” she said.
The center will focus on children from 6 weeks to 6 years old.
The Learning Bee accepts children with special needs who are able to function within the classroom environment, Webb said. A student can be accompanied by a full-time assistant at the parents’ expense.
