Artist Turns Passion into a Business
Whether it’s applying solid color to a chair featuring intricately- turned legs or painting a scene on a side table, Phyllis Giordano’s intent is to redefine the character of a piece of furniture, rather than conceal it.
As an artist, designer and owner of the York business Painted Treasurers, Giordano works with antique, vintage and other pieces of furniture, transforming them through a varied application of painting styles.
Giordano began working in her garage as an artistic outlet, but her work caught the eye of friends and family who encouraged her to sell the furnishings. She quickly outgrew the space and opened a studio in a charming 1925 renovated home on Route 1.
