10 Easy Businesses You Can Start - Now!

10 Easy Businesses You Can Start - Now!

So, you’ve got the urge to start a business and get out of the rat race. Now, to the hard part…which business should you start? I know the feeling, you’ve got the passion but not the idea. Of course, it’s always a good idea to do what you are most passionate about, but here’s 10 easy business ideas that may get your idea brainstorm working:

1. Ebay Business - Ok, I know you’ve thought about it. Now it’s time to actually try it! I have a lot of experience selling stuff on Ebay. In fact, I have had quite a few months making over $1000/month - very part time & with zero inventory. I won’t go into details here, but just know that it can be done profitably.

2. Pet Sitter - I have seen plenty of Pet hotels go up around our city in the past 2 years. They charge an arm and a leg to watch your dog for a week. People are always looking for a place to keep their pets when they go on vacation, why couldn’t it be with you?

3. Freelance Writer - If you have some writing skills, this job is for you. What you need to succeed in this business: determination & patience. If you’ve got those, then you can potentially make a lot of money. Just keep on sending in articles and you’ll eventually start seeing some publications.

4. Computer Repairs - If you have a techie side to you, try helping out those who don’t. I know of one person who started his repair business by posting his business card on bulletin boards. Referals keep pouring in.

5. Power-Wash Driveways- For the small investment of buying a power-washer you could be in business. People pay up to a few hundred dollars (depending on the size of the driveway) to have their driveways cleaned. That’s pure profit after you pay off your equipment! Hint: there’s a huge market for this in the new home construction process.

6. Start a Blog - Do you have some sort of expertise in a field? If so, you could do very well writing about it on a blog. I would suggest starting off with a hosted blog (wordpress.org or blogger.com will work). They are free to run so you have nothing to lose. And maybe you’ll end up being the next ProBlogger or JohnChow, making well into the six figures.

7. Make Crafts - There are a lot of scams out there for this type of work, don’t buy any of them. I’m talking about you thinking up and making your own greeting cards, knitted items, home decor, etc. Sell them at craft shows, flea markets, Ebay or your own website.

8. Refurbish Antiques - Talk about a hot item right now. Find run down furniture (local auctions have great deals, or estate sales) and give it new life. A Shabby Chic look is pretty easy to get with antique furniture and they sell like hot cakes nowadays.

9. Greeting Card Mailings - Mortgage companies and Realtors are always looking to impress their clients. You could help them out by sending greeting cards to their clients. Check out Remember Me Cards for a good example of this.

10. Garage Organizing - There are a lot of people out there who do not have the time to clean out their garages, or just don’t want to. If you have good organizing skills, there is a huge market out there waiting on you.
